A stone grate screeches to a halt as it grinds to the top of an arch, allowing both a Houndour and a Sneasel to stare at eachother from opposite ends of the arena. Arena officials ushered the both of you out into a dirt pit with a raised stadium surrounding you, the area mostly soft sand and the occasional tussock of grass in a few places. The crowd cheered quietly, anticipation slowly growing among them as they waited for the Announcer's Voice to reach 0. As it did, it became clear that Vanitas would eb the one to strike first, without any qualms or doubts. Silvain Vanitas

At first, Van believed this would be another unfair situation for a clearly less trained opponent, but then he considered the type combination Silvain was. Neither Van's Ice Punch nor Feint Attack would be of great use here. With his two most powerful moves stipped from his arsenal, all the Sneasel would be able to do was to wear his opponent with Normal Attacks down. But this time, unlike with Holly, he would not hold back. While he liked Holly, he had learned a valueable lesson from both her and the Emolga... never show mercy in combat.
As soon as the announcer reached 0, Van splayed his claws and dashed in short bursts of tremdenous velocity over the battlefield, like a shadow blinking in and out of existence. It was only a second or two before the Sneasel had reached the Houndou, slamming his body with all the kinetic force of his Quick Attack against it. That should do the trick as an introductery display of his physical prowess.

Silvain padded through the gate that lifted to reveal his opponent, a small, puppy-like smile decorating his face while a small, rose-bud pink tongue lolled from his open jaws. He knew this wouldn't be a friendly battle, this Sneasel was definitely in to win it, but perhaps it was good experience? Silvain even played with the possibility of becoming friends after, a common thought for someone such as him. Feeling soft sand beneath his paws, he stepped forward. Anticipation began to beat against his chest as a voice boomed around the stadium, but the Houndour barely got to move before he was rammed into with a Quick Attack. Frowning, the male hit the ground and tumbled around a bit, a pulse of pain hitting the spot where a Roggenrola had repeatedly hit him before. Letting a soft growl of pain echo through his maw, he felt fire climbing up his throat and let it leap from his mouth at Vanitas, hoping to hit him in a close proximity. The Houndour had no time to react to Van's supersonic velocity, and when he eventually impacted with the dog pokemon, it was like breaking a wooden plate with a sledgehammer. The collision caused all kinetic energy of Van to transfer to Silvain, causing it to soar through the air and towards the edge of the arena like a football. Seeing this, Van carried a small expression of concern for his opponent, as he had no intention of severely hurting her or anything like that. He just had intended to win swiftly, not so violently.
But it was over, likely causing a brief time of being fainted before the Silvain would wake up agian. Van took this time to approach the Houndour and kneel next to it. He made a sigh of relief when he spotted he had not damaged her severely, just enough to make her unconcious briefly. It was an accidentally optimal, but still optimal, as it meant the Houndour could be ready for action in just a couple of hours.
"Are you okay?" He asked her, his voice calm and not in the slightest boastful. It had been an unfair fight; if you could even call it fight. But hey, what could you do? It was not his fault he had trained so much that he was speedy as a storm and powerful as a Regigigas.
