PERSONALITY,
A fairly agreeable Pokemon, Silvain is a Houndour that goes with the flow and usually agrees with the others in a group. He often doesn't want to cause trouble and simply goes along with whatever plan is out into place, for he usually thinks that is the best course of action as well. Even so, Silvain is not afraid to share his opinions and is upfront with how he feels about something, usually straight-forward and calm. As such, he works well with groups; able to agree with others, but also able to put in his two cents about the matter. This has made him a rather good diplomat.
However, this Houndour shies away from sharing any feelings that might embarrass him. He doesn't reveal that care about others, he doesn't compliment others, nor does he really call others his friends. Some might think this is him being rude and unfriendly, but truly, love, friendship, and other feel-good emotions make him feel embarrassed and a little shy, so he avoids ever having to share them. The only way you may hear him talk about these sorts of feelings is if you are really good friends with him, and even that is a bit hard to pull off.
Silvain happens to be a peculiar fan of mystery dungeons; som may feel like the dungeons are dangerous because of how they get switched up every time, but that's simply the thrill of it. Silvain loves variety and switching things up, and feels that it would be pretty boring if the dungeons were the same every time you went in. With this, he actively seeks out new things, and if he didn't know it was dangerous, would probably have wandered into the fog by now, simply because of the adventure.
In general, Silvain is a friendly Houndour who wouldn't mind taking an expedition into the fog or dungeons way above his level.
