Van definetly avoided looking over the edge, as he had no intention on losing focus and accidentally fall to his doom. Instead, he focused on the path he could travel on, and of incoming threats. Though strangely enough... there was nothing in the next room he entered. It was just a simple, empty room. Not even an item or a special tile. Just... a room. Something seemed fishy about it, but since there did not appear to be anything, he simply decided to continue.
He headed upwards towards the northern entrance / exit of this room, following the hallway towards whatever would await him. If there was at least something about this place to explore he might not rush so much, but... it was just clouds. It was like a room without any light, but white. There was just nothing. And after all, he was not here for nothing.

You walk down a very short corridor into a small room, only to spot two pokemon among it. A malevolent Hawlucha stares at you, while a small, fluffy Fletchling sleeps peacefully in one corner. The Hawlucha let's out a cry and takes wing, enough to see the stairs just behind it. It will be very close, but you could attack the Hawlucha first.

A Hawlucha was his next opponent, huh? While a fletching in the distance was taking a deep nap also? Okay, time to evaluate the situation. Hawlucha was a Flying Pokemon, which was good, but also a Fighting Pokemon, which was bad. Each of them could probably knock the other out in a single punch. Either he was going to faint, or the Hawlucha. There was not much he had to lose but his conciousness, so... why the heck not?
The Hawlucha was fast, but not quite as fast as the Sneasel, allowing him to dash towards it first. Encasing his talons in biting frost, he slashed at the chest of this hostile avian pokemon. Do-or-die, there was no other reasonable action in Van's eyes, accepting severe pain if he was to fail. Then again, he just hoped the Fletchling would not wake up from the battle noises. Usually, they did not, as pokemons actually had quite a deep sleep. This is also why he decided to not say a word this time.

Vanitas used Ice Punch! It's super effective!Hawlucha Health - -4/30 The bird Pokemon tried to avoid the Ice Punch, but no matter what it did, it was getting cold, solid ice in it's side. Hit hard, it rolled over to the edge of the cloud, nearly falling off. Before it was able to however, it disappeared with a puff of fog and you were left alone with the sleeping Fletchling. Congratulations! Vanitas earned 250 exp points! Vanitas leveled up to level 11!+3 Health! +2 Attack! +1 Defense! +1 Sp. Attack! +1 Sp. Attack! +2 Speed!

When the Hawlucha disappeared from sight, Van was actually amazed that he was still standing, likely only because of the fact he had both an advantage and greater speed than the adversary he had just vanquished. Still, he felt new power unleashed into his being, making him feel auspicious. This was going much better than expected after the battle of the Skarmory... and the Fletchling was still asleep. Excellent.
Sneaking up to it, Vanitas raised his claws as they once again became engulfed in an aura of ice. Ice Punch, definetly his thus far most belovec technique. With a vicious grin, he struck the slumberous, little pokemon. Expecting it to go down with a stringle strike, he oddly found himself... enjoying himself. It might be his dark type or a malign core within him, but gaining power so swiftly by vanquishing opponents that he had advantages against felt delightful.
Then again, those were just pokemons corrupted by the fog who simply disappeared to return elsewhere, so nothing truly evil was occuring, right?

Vanitas used Ice Punch! It's super effective!Fletchling Health - -5/33 The Fletchling didn't even wake up. As soon as it was hit, it fell over and disappeared, no time to even make a shocked expression. Maybe if it had been awake, it would have put up more of a fight. Congratulations! Yeah, this had not been his most proud moment, but it brought him closer to his goal, which was all that truly mattered to him here. Another burst of rejuvination filled his veins after he put the Fletchling down, causing him to smirk. 7 times... so 8 more to go before he would run out of ice energy, at least temporarily. If he was lucky, this could mean maybe one more increase in power. If not... well he could always retreat.
Seeing the stairs in the room, he decided to turn around and return to the room whence he came, which was to the south of the current room he was in. If there was nothing in it, he would then decide to follow the right upper path to wherever it would lead him to. Coming to think about it, he was actually kind of surprised he had not found a single item thus far. Was that part of the dojo, a lack of times?

The room you returned to was now calm and quiet, a soft, gentle wind fluttering through the dungeon that seemed more like a skyway. Just looking onto the path leading off the right side reveals that the two just loop around in a circle with a narrow stretch of thin clouds.

Van was actually quite surprised to see that the pathway he believed leading to somewhere else was actually just a circular walk leading back to the room he was currently in. This had been a waste of a few seconds, but considering his success thus far, he did not mind. He had all day, so what were a few seconds?
With a calm spirit, he returned to the room whence he became, enjoying the environment of serene tranquility a lot. It was calm, quiet, and the wind was like the gentle embrace of someone beloved sheltering him. He had always liked winds, were they strong or weak, or part of a rain shower. They were like the blood circulation of the world, granting him life and the reason he fought against the fog for.
And this why he trained, which is why he, despite having a lot of time, he did not waste much more. With a steady pace, he approached the stairs and took them to reach the next area.

You ascend the stairs to a similar room; an area with fluffy clouds beneath your feet, soft gusts of wind blowing at your sides, and distant chirps of bird pokemon on the wind. The stairs are already in your line of sight, and just behind them is a flighty Sigilyph, looking thoroughly excited as it flew around with anticipation. While the other was definitely fast, you could be faster and strike it first.

Ascending the stairs to the next layer of clouds, he found himself, unsurprisingly so, in a room that was just like every other. He had noted though that the wind had slightly intensified, which was a pleasure to him, and the noises of the wind were accompanied by the noises of many flying pokemons soaring through the sky. As long as they were not hostile, he actually liked the symphony of sounds.
But then there was this strange looking pokemon, something he had never seen before to be honest. It kind of looked like a Xatu, but... like it was transformed into some sort of hideous machine. Still, it was a flying type, he was sure about that. Ignoring the stairs for now, he dashed at it and attempted to strike it with his Ice Punch technique.
As he did so, he felt the icy energy within him subside. He had already strained his body a lot, so he wondered how longer he could sustain this. In his head, he tried to remember and guess as he attacked the hostile pokemon.

He felt the hard frame of this pokemon in the moment of impact, but he managed to penetrate its defenses nonetheless. Still this pokemon was much tougher than the ones he had encountered before, even the Skarmory despite its metal armor. It was a piece of evidence that pokemons were indeed becoming stronger the deeper he went into the dojo dungeon. This was both fortune and misfortune for different, but obvious reasons.
8 times... yes, that was how many times he had used his Ice Punch technique thus far. This of course meant he still had ice energy within him for 7 more times. If he was fortunate, that could mean 7 more pokemons vanquished, or at least almost that amount. But if Van would decide to climb up the stairs, he might not accomplish that goal due to the pokemons becoming too tenacious.
This is why Van decided to leave the room and follow the path of the hallways located to the right of the room.

You walk down a long, narrow path of only white, fluffy clouds with no borders, the winds seeming to have grown stronger just to spite you. As you walk, you come to a split in the roads, one going straight up while the other went in the same way you had already been heading.

Hmm... he must have accidentally walked left after all, but considering the reason why he was here, it did not matter. He would simply continue his path that would eventually lead him back to the room with the stairs anyway. He was here to train and perhabs find a few items in the interim. Everything else was not that important, which was why he was not concerned about his minor error.
The winds had indeed grown stronger, but that did not spite him. On the contrary, he enjoyed his dark cyan fur waving like a flag in the wind. It was a beautiful sensation for him, feeling like... like what a flying type pokemon was likely experiencing everyday. It was beautiful, as long as i would not push him over the edge of course.
Eventually, he came to a crossroad, and just like before, it did not really matter which way he took. So without losing more than a couple of seconds due to consideration, he simply continued to follow the direction he had already headed towards, which was straight left.
