nix pulled her little back pack up over one shoulder and pushed open the door to the inn, glancing around, she noted a small table to one side of the room and smiled to herself before she started over to it. She had to dodge a couple of pokemon, some rushing about with trays of food and some simply rushing about with somewhere to go and she chuckled at this, she liked it in here for that reason. IT was busy, there were pokemon about and she didnt like to talk to pokemon in fear of putting her foot in something and offending someone too badly but she enjoyed just watching them.

She settled herself on the small table and glanced around, no one was heading for her or anything else so she tossed her backpack over the table to land on the chair across from her and then leaned forwards and set her elbows on the table and she wondered what she wanted. A drink or a meal? It was her day off to herself, she could pick whatever she wanted. Her little legs kicked out under her and she lifted a hand to lift her helmet back on her head to glance about once more, should she go up and order or would someone come to see her. She had yet to be in here long enough to order, as much as she enjoyed pokemon watching.

The guild, usually at least, only served meals at dawn and dusk, not at noon. You could manage with that kind of eating plan when eating a lot on each occasion, but after a certain while, the fruits and vegetables got a little bit dull. The guild did not really have a cook, more of a... 'supplier'; which would be fine and dandy if there was a big kitchen in the guild. Well, whatever, after all, this was why he was here.

To have a real meal once again, without bothering his parents who had no chance to prepare something for him in advance anyway. He was so or so not the kind of guy that liked asking things, feeling like a freeloader everytime he did that. Still, mother's casseroles were the best. But he would be fine with something purchased from his own money. Hence he decided to visit the Kanga Room, a comfortable, little and quiet inn; just perfect for him.

Was a bit more busy than he was used to, but he did not mind since a majority seemed to leave at this point in time to go about their business anyway. And there was a small, free table, right next to a... Shiny Raits? Oh yes, he had seen her in the guild already, though he had never interacted with her, since there had been no reason for him to do so. Guess she had the same idea as him.

Still, he had no reason to bother her, so he sat down quietly at the neighboring table and gazed through the menu. Perhabs a Vegi Roast with fried potatoes and a big spoon full of sour creme? Perhabs an ice-cold fruit smoothie to flush it down? Yeah, that sounded great, and was not all too expensive. Having decided on that, he put the menu down again and patiently awaited the waiter / waitress to take his order.

Briefly, Van noticed how the Ralt's looked at everything, giving her a brief smile with closed eyes when her eyes would have met his, before minding his own business again. Hopefully, that female pokemon was not the haughty kind of gal.

Nix watched the room with curious eyes, seeing the world around her. Part of being the pokemon of emotion meant she was unstable in her on and picked up on those of others but it lead to interesting things, she could see things other couldnt. There was a vulpix and fennekin in the corner of the inn, the fennekin seemed to be upset about something but asked she dropped the matter and her mate seemed to shy away from it, nix grinned as she could so easily tell this was not the way to go about things as she could feel the worry coming off the other pokemon but it wasnt her place to say.

At the back of the inn there was a whole different feeling, a small froakie padded back and forth beside the toilet door before an squirtle came jumping out with a little yelp. The pair hugged and nix felt her spirits lifted as she watched the duo, so sweet. It was at this point she found her chest growling at her and she gave a little chuckle to herself, she had been so focused on watching she forgot to order anything. Her eyes moved back to the menu before her as she heard a soft shuffling behind her. Her eyes darted over the drinks list and she nodded once more before turning to find herself face to face with a jynx. The ice type asked if nix was done ordering and the shiny nodded her head, pointing her hand to the pecha berry miltank shake and the jynx gave a soft laugh and nodded. She offered her name, Winter, and moved over the inn to another table with another newly arrived customer as nix watched her move away.

In all honesty, Van had not paid much attention to anyone else in the restaurant, being mostly concerned about himself in this peaceful environment. As long as they did not behave bothersome, he had no impetus to interact with anyone or even really take notice of them. He was a self-involved, unharried kind of guy that simply minded his own business if outside imput was not required. And he did not like snooping into pokemons' private lives, which was of course a given for any individual with a sense of decency.

Van had made notice of the Jynx, who was the waitress of this local, taking orders from the shiny pokemon first. Winter was her name, right? After taking the Ralt's rather simple order, Winter just took a step backwards and turned towards Van, greeting him with a smile just like every customer. "A Vegi Roast with fried potatoes and a big spoon full of sour creme; and an icy fruit smoothie, please." He ordered with a calm tone.

After calling him a gourmet, or perhabs a gourmand, he was not too sure about that, Winter cuckled and wrote the order down, leaving them be continue performing her job. Might take 10 minutes before his order was ready, but he was a patient young pokemon with lots of time at his disposal, so he did not mind. Besides, he could enjoy the atmosphere of this restaurant during the time.

Nix watched the ice type head to another pokemon, one nix only knew as a species and had yet to meet any in the flesh. It was then that her mind clicked, she knew this pokemon. That was why her eye had been drawn to it, it was one of the others in the guild who spent their time there. Alright, she had no idea who this was or if they were even friendly but it hit the little ralts that she had now been staring at the other pokemon the whole time they had been ordering and quite a while afterwards.

Her face burnt red and she gave a little smile, lifting a hand from the table and waving it as her helmet chose that moment to fall down over her eyes and her face burnt event brighter red. She lowered her hand, turning back to the table and tried very hard not to laugh at her and slap herself in the same movement. She was so bad at meeting others, she really needed to work on it but if it always went like this then she was never going to do it in fear of looking like a twit every time.

A few seconds after making the order and attempting to relax, he had noticed how the Ralts' had starred at him, like he had a banana peel on his head. Briefly turning his head in case she had looked at someone else, he realized that was nobody behind him for her to look at. Nope, she had looked at him, but why? "C-Can I help you with something, Shiny Ralth?" He asked her with a calm tone of slight confusion. He seriously wondered why she seemed so fascinated about him.

She briefly smiled and intended to wave her hand at him, for some reason, but then her... helmet tilted to block her view? That thing was a helmet? He thought that was her hair. In any case, he could now see the exteme blush on her face, causing him to grin nervously. Yes, this had been a rather silly moment, but Van have his best to re-gain compuse since it appeared to truly trouble the Ralth.

"Uuhm... may I help you?" He asked her, offering his assitance in case she needed it. She seemed kind enough, if a bit awkward and quiet, hence he would be glad to help despite her strange behaviour.

Nix, had she been able to see, would have been watching the wood on the table before her as if her life depended on it. She was not going to correct her helmet, that would make her look even more stupid and she looked daft enough as it was! It was then the voice of the other pokemon reached her and she lifted her head, her head flicking back to send the helmet back a little and she glanced over to the other pokemon once more. "Sorry.....i kind of zoned out. You work at the guild, right?" she said, confessing that she hadnt really meant to stare at the other pokemon but adding the question as well.

Nix had in fact been there a long while but she didnt do a lot, it was only recently she had gotten herself together and started exploring the world a little bit after her dislike and distrust of most older pokemon began to wear off. She was getting better, she was still very annoyed with herself a lot of the time and doubted her own ability a lot but she was trying. She was still totally terrible at meeting others, this showed that well, but the exploring thing she could do. "Why is fighting easier than making freinds" she complained softly under her breath, her yes not quite lifting to reach the other pokemon as she spoke.

Why was it that she did not correct her helmet so she could properly see again? Was she ashamed about the fact that it had tilted? That was a little bit silly if that was indeed the case, now was it? At the every least, it slightly corrected itself when the shiny pokemon raised her head to react and responds to his question. He had not minded her starring at him, but he at least wanted to know what was about him that was so interesting. After all, he was just an ordinary Sneasel, right?

Huh, just kind of zoned out? Weird location to do so, but if that was the explanation, then he would take it as it was. "Yes I do. Just like you, right?" He responded with a calm voice before asking her the same question, though he already knew the answer to it. It took the shiny pokemon a few more moments to formulate the next sentence, but the statement was something he agreed with. It made him chuckle and grin briefly, before shrugging. It probably was a statement directed at herself, so he decided not to responds; though he agreed. 

He wondered when the waitress would come with his meal. How much time has past already? Gosh, he was bad at keeping track of time.

Nix nodded her head in reply to male comment, her ears picking up his gender from his voice now and she looked around before she gave a little sigh. She took a deep breath and her hands held on to the table before her, "mind if i join you?" spilled from her mouth as she tried not to look too pained to ask. She needed to work on this meeting thing and this was another pokemon who lived and worked in the same place as her, this was a good start!

She felt a little silly as the male laughed at her snide comment to herself, though a little better too as making someone laugh always made her feel a little easier. Her eyes moved around herself again, noting a few little thing here and there and trying to make it look like she watched everyone and not just stared at a few pokemon for fun. The fenniken had stormed off now, the vulpix charging after her with whys falling from his mouth and the pair of water types were sitting at their table now with a bit of paper and pointing to it at places. The shuffling nix knew to be the waitress followed next, nix turned to see her with two drinks on a tray and she started first to the other pokemon's table it seemed.

There was a brief sigh from the Ralts', like something was bothering her, though Van could not qutie figure out what it was. Was it still the fact that the helmet tilted, or was it something else about their conversation that had annoyed her? Hopefuly, it was not something directly related to the Sneasel. She then took a deep breath, seemingly taking all her courage to pronounce the next sentence. And it was a question directed at him. If she could join him? "Sure. Please feel free to take a seat." He responded with a kind voice, despite not quite knowing why she wanted to suddenly sit at the same table as him.

There definetly was some social anxiety gracing her face, so he remainded calm and pleasant as to make the situation not even more galling for her. In any case, he no longer minded her scanning her surroundings like before, even if she called it 'zoning out'. And as mentioned before, he was not really interested in what was going on around him, as long as it did not involve him. 

Daw, the waitress seemed to deliver meals to other guests first, causing Van to be a bit sad inside. He wanted his meal now. If he was still a child, he would pout right now.

The male responded kindly and nix gave a little happy smile, glad the other was so agreeable. Nix lifted herself from her chair and started over, ducking behind the waitress who gave her a smile as she passed and the shiny lifted herself on to the chair beside the other pokemon and then tugged her bag so it slid under her.

The waitress turned then, two drinks on her tray and she moved to the duo and gave a little chuckle. She said something, a little about making new freinds and good to see kids behaving and placed down the drinks. Nix opened her mouth to tell the elder pokemon she was NOT a child but she was already turning away and so the ralts paused, she would have to let her little issue slid this one time. She planned to be in here often enough, she could correct the matter later. Thanks for having me

It appeared that his pleasant-natured attitude seeemd to resonate with the Ralts fairly well, which relieved him. The last thing he needed now was causing another explorer with weak social skils to cry and run out of the building. They would blame him for it, after all, he was a Dark type pokemon. It was easy to accuse his kind of pokemons for everything bad, as dark is often synonymous with evil. He hated that stigma, but learned to deal with it. He was the mature one that judged others by their behaviour and actions, not their species or type. If others decided to be imbecilic, it was their decision to make. He would not dignify them for that nor acknowledge their presence.

Van beheld as the Ralts' walked over to him with her bag, sitting down next to him at the small table and putting the bag next to her chair. The waitress then approached them, serving him the smoothie and the Ralts the drink she ordered. What the waitress said afterwards felt a bit patronizing, but he accepted it as it was. He was not a child, though his frame seemed to tell a different story. 

The Ralts seemed to focus on him, causing him to do the same with her. She thanked Van for letting her be with him, to which he briefly smirked and nodded. "But of course." He responded to her new companion, actually appreciating the company of this kind, if a bit shy, Ralts.

Nix smiled as the other pokemon spoke before she leaned forwards over the table and reached for her drink, it wasnt easy as she was small but she managed to reach it and pull it to her side. she lifted herself to take a drink, smiling for a moment as what she had. The glass was tall and curled at the top but the drink inside was a bright pink, a pecha berry sat atop it as if to explain this but a sip from the straw within it told nix this also held mago berries.

She smiled to herself, she was no child but she did like the sweet things in life and with that in mind she turned her head to the other pokemon. "I should have said, my name is nix" she said with a little nod of her head, her eyes moving over the other pokemon. She tried to sense more about him,though it was harder as he was a dark type and her abilities didnt work quite so well on them but she could sense that he was a kind enough soul which made her feel better.

After a brief smile from the Ralts', she decided to take her drink from the middle of the same, and Van did the same. Unlike her, he did not have much of a problem, but he hesitated from helping her as to not appear to look down at her. Besides, she managed it rather quickly despite her small frame anyway, so he did not even have to help her anyway. 

Just like her glass, his was also tall and curled at the top, and the mixed fruit juice inside it was like a liquid rainbow. Her drink was made out of Pecha berries, while his was a mix of all kinds of berries, just like a good smoothie was supposed to be. There were a few ice cubes at the bottom to keep his smoothie ice cold, just the way he liked it thanks to his type. 

Taking a sip through his straw, her shuttered because of sheer delight, finding the smoothie to be as delicious as ever. Not only that, but the fruit mix was also full of vitamins, which was a nice plus for the health of his body. Tasty and healthy, that was the way he liked it. Briefly looking up to the Ralts, it appeared she was enjoying her drink as well, making Van happy. He was always glad when he and his rare companions could just enjoy time together instead of being in a perpetual state of awkwardness.

"A pleasure to meet you, Nix. I am Vanitas, Van for short if you prefer that. Again, nice to meet you." He introduced himself with a genial tone after the Ralts had introduced herself first. After a brief nod, their gazes met, causing him to grin briefly. "Hope you enjoy your drink as much as I do, hehe." He wished her a similar sensation of pleasantness as he currently experienced.

Nix smiled as the other pokemon took a little of his drink and seemed to like it, it made her happy to simply see him happy and it seemed he was the same. A moment later he offered his name and nix nodded to him, taking a little more of her own drink and then smiling as he spoke again. "Its nice, i do enjoy these" she said after a moment, grinning as a thought hit her. "I know i look little, young and kid like but i always will like miltank shakes" she said with a chuckle as she looked her drink over.

She never got very much as a child, berries and grass mixes that were warmed in the sun if she was very lucky, so cooked food and mixed drinks were something she had found here for the first time. It had been odd at first, but she had found that she really loved them and she was sure it working out in her favour. Having never had anything like them, she saw them as really good. Other pokemon were so used to a hot cooked meal and a nice drink that they just expected it and didnt enjoy it, or she seemed to see that a lot.
