The forest was unnatural. Usually, there were distant chirps of bird pokemon in the treetops, the soft crunching of grass as Pokemon trotted through the undergrowth, but these woods were silent and eerie. Every sound was muffled, a tree could fall right in front of them and no one would hear them. Elysia found herself begging for some sort of sound, paling in the face of such a creepy atmosphere but leading on, despite her fears. She let out a sigh as she walked, feeling the soft, dark green grass yield beneath her as she moved forwards, only to light up at the distant sound of buzzing. It was the first sound of nature she had heard all day.

Bounding forwards, she hoped Nix was following because this was bound to be a battle, albeit one she was excited for. Anticipation flickering through her, the Shinx grinned as the room open up to reveal a Yanma, a bug-flying she could easily charge through. Glancing towards Nix, she gave a nod and called forward a stash of energy within her. Feeling her maw flicker with unpredictable electricity, she leapt forwards and allowed her glowing front teeth to sink into the flying pokemon.

Nix used Confuse Ray! The Yanma became confused!

The Yanma was transfixed by the alabaster light that glowed from Nix's eyes, illuminating the flying bug and grabbing all of it's attention until, eventually, the opponent's eye grew glazed as it's wings began to wobble in various different directions. It didn't seem to understand where it was anymore, dizziness clouding it's judgement.

Elysia used Thunder Fang! It's super effective!
Yanma Health - 2/20

Unable to avoid the attack, the Yanma was hit by Elysia's electrically charged teeth head-on. Letting out a cry of agony, it fell to the floor, the only thing that rose it again being the determination to go on.

Yanma used Tackle on Elysia! It did 4 damage!
Elysia Health - 19/22

The Yanma, tears in it's wings and scuff marks on it's body, rushed forward with a fierce buzz. it slammed into Elysia, and while not enough to kill, it definitely did more damage than last time.

Level 5 / Synchronize / Growl, Teleport, Confuse Ray 

Well she had tried to help. Nix watched as her attack worked, another pokemon confused and she hoped it would aid her freind and get the blasted thing to crash or something. the shinx attacked, her move most powerful on the bug but it still managed to hold itself together and dove for the shinx. Nix gave a soft growl, one that grew louder and she directed it at the bug. "Hey, dont pick on her!" she snapped, hoping her words would get the bug to look at her and focus on her. If it hit her, she and her freind could heal a little over time and the shinx would have a better shot to hit the bug and take it out. Or that was her plan at least, she hoped it would work.

Feeling success flood through her chest, the feeling of happiness and smug soon dwindled away as she felt her body get slammed into. Knocked back with a soft yelp scratching out of her throat, the Shinx let a growl resonate throughout her body as she rose to her paws. She knew a bruise would end up growing on her body, but with adrenaline flickering through her veins, she couldn't be quite bothered to care. Rushing forwards, Elysia glanced to Nix briefly before leaping upwards.

With wide, electric eyes, Elysia rushed forward and slammed into the bug, using her head to ram into the frail body of the flying insect.

The Yanma swiveled over to face Nix, buzzing angrily. But that final move proved to be its undoing, for as Elysia tackled the creature, it collapsed into the ground, drained of its energy and lifeless. The fog was quick to whisk it away into nothingness, and then it was no more.

And then the two explorers were alone once again in the dungeon, save for the single item still in the distance. There was an exit to the south, or they could go back the way they came and take the stairs downwards. The choice was theirs.

Nix smiled and looked to her freind as the pokemon before them fell, disappearing in to fog after a moment. It was then the shiny noted that there were items in this room they had yet to get so she pointed over to the blast seed and then to the little pile of cash lower down. "You wanna grab the seed and i'll get this, then we can go down the end" she said, giving a little bit of a kind smile as she spoke. She didnt want to boss around the other pokemon but she also didnt want them to be so polite they didnt tell each other what they thought they should be doing because they might upset the other one. She nodded, almost to make herself feel better, and then started down the room to collect the dollars from the end of it.

As she rammed into the Yanma, she could feel excitement and accomplishment rush into her chest, landing on the ground with a muffled crouch. She whipped around again to see the fog whisk away the limp body, her attention soon flickering to nix as she grinned with achievement. "Nice!" she commented gleefully, before turning and bounding downwards through rather tall, springy forest grass to reach an abandoned Seed. She immediately pocketed, turning to Nix to see her gathering bits of shiny Pokedollars, gleaming with every small pinprick of minimal light.

"Alright, you ready?' the young Shinx wonder, lashing her long, spark-ended tail as she padded towards the next exit. however, she didn't quite wait for nix, as the cat-like pokemon simply seemed to assume that the Ralts would follow her.
