Nellie Mae Newell (She'll only let you call her Mae on its own if you're close)

Personality: Nellie Mae's one of those Pokemon that seems perfect at first sight. She's very sweet (sickeningly sweet is how some Pokemon would describe it), polite, and seems fairly intelligent. She's book-smart but not exactly street-smart, being pretty scared of the fog and the world of Mystery Dungeons. She's also finicky about staying clean and is washing herself off frequently. Manipulative Pokemon can probably get her wrapped around their little finger very easily. Since Nellie Mae is still easing herself out of that phase of life where it's all "me, me, me", she can be alarmingly selfish on occasion. Nellie Mae's untiring optimism about Pokemon leads her to be very forgiving whenever she meets outlaws-- one of these days, she wants to start some kind of counseling service or pick up her dad's business. There's a tiny part of her that wants to see more of the world despite her fears after reading myth after myth, and she knows she has the potential to become such a Pokemon-- it'll just take lots and lots of hard work and effort, her two least favorite terms. There aren't a lot of things she hates, but one in particular is Pokemon that mock others for mental problems or call others names that allude to such things. After growing up with parents that heavily discouraged such a thing, it scares her to think there's Pokemon out there that do that.
History: Nellie Mae was born to a pair of fairly wealthy parents. Nellie's mother is an ex-explorer that had to retire early in life after a bad injury on the job, and her father is a counselor specializing in dealing with explorers trying to recover from trauma like the Goodra's. Most of the time, when Nellie Mae left home, it was with her father, as the Goodra absolutely couldn't deal with catching sight of the spot in the market where she had been injured or the guild. However, when the route was carefully planned out, the family could have outings together. The whole family loved each other deeply, and all in all Nellie's early life was a good one. She also got a good early education through her father, and her mother (very reluctantly) taught her necessary self-defense moves. Nellie used to be scared of her mother's occasional outbursts of panic in the middle of the day, but after her father sat her down for a long explanation on what happened, she tries her best to support her and admires how strong she is. However, this sort of life has left her very sheltered and naive. While she had a few neighborhood friends when she was little, most of her education on how the world is came through her family's extensive library. Now that she's getting old enough to try out school and other things, Nellie's about to be thrown straight out of her comfort zone into the wide, wide world.
Other: She wears a little bow on her head. The nature of her mother's injury has led her to get a protective set of (cute and bow-matching) goggles she always keeps in her bag just in case, since Nellie's developed a phobia of eye injury. She also gets very squeamish around Pokemon that have large scars and retired explorers.
