FLORICA/FLO
Team: None, but a future team is planned with another member
Allegiance: Explorer
Species: Scraggy
Nature: Adamant
Level: 5
Characteristic:Hates to lose
Gender:Female
Sexuality: Homosexual
Age: 17
Ability:Moxie
Personality: Florica's most obvious trait is that she's colorful and flamboyant. She outwardly looks quite fearless, just from her way of dress alone, and she seems to pack vibrant energy into every movement. Florica prides herself on being a real big-sisterly type-- she's not the sort of Pokemon to actively look for friends, but if anyone comes to her needing help she'll be glad to oblige. The Scraggy's a Pokemon that values material possessions quite a lot, being willing to blow money on repairs for her three most treasured scarves, and she's interested in the fashion trends of the rest of the Pokemon world. Florica's actually very prone to jealousy and will rapidly distance herself from Pokemon she feels insignificant talking to and can be a bit of a narcissist, though she hates to admit it. Nevertheless, she rarely lets this show except to her closest friends. Since Florica's a Pokemon that feels emotions so intensely and for so long, she's prone to things like infatuation and clinginess to friends, fearing rejection more than death itself.
Moves: Leer
Low Kick
Sand Attack
Dragon Dance (Egg move)
History: Flo didn't love her family much, but she sure loved the lifestyle they had generations before. Before the fog came, they were nomads that stuck together through thick and thin. The family's specialty was dancing-- it was all Dragon egg group Pokemon, and they always tried to keep Dragon Dance somewhere in the new generation's moveset. No matter their gender, the Pokemon learned to dance with flair that could lift the hearts of all onlookers and boost their own potential for more energy-consuming moves. It was the art that kept the family together. When the dancing business wasn't in much demand, they'd do fortune-telling-- if even that didn't work, they sometimes looted homes and stole.
Once the fog rolled in, however, they managed to get to the city after losing most of their members, essentially breaking up the family for good. A generation passed before Flo came into existence, so all the girl knew of her family's past was through stories passed down from her father. Flo's mother wasn't actually a dancer but an outlaw who was far happier spending time with her husband than her daughter. The Altaria Florica knew as Dad was often busy with his job as a fortune teller, and Flo's mom frequently joined him, so she found herself alone often. She wasn't too lonely, though, making plenty of friends with her happy-go-lucky attitude and zeal about dancing while distancing herself from her parents. She met another dancer one day, a Buneary, and became fast friends with her. They exchanged dancing tips and learned from each other, but over time Florica realized that the other dancer was a genius when it came to her profession. Florica found herself flustered and embarrassed to dance with the Buneary more and more often, partially out of a developing crush and partially because of her veiled envy for the girl. Eventually, she finally decided to confess her feelings to the Buneary, but she was met with an awkward and swift rejection.
Florica was too shocked and confused to go back to her crush, instead building a wall around herself and focusing solely on her dancing and fortune-telling skills. She began to make plenty of money on her own, keeping it a secret from her mother, and started buying her own things, discovering her love for fashion and quality goods. When she accidentally let it slip to her mom that she was into girls, her mother's attitude toward her changed heavily. Before, they were more sisters than mother and daughter, but now all of that was gone. Florica had built up a thick skin to this kind of thing by now-- when her mother began dropping hints that it was about time for her to go live on her own, she happily obliged.
Life on her own turned out to be a good bit harder than Florica thought-- while she was a hard worker and one of the more successful dancers in the city, she just couldn't make enough money to get herself much more than the necessities. After eavesdropping on a conversation between guild members at the market, she grew interested in a career at the guild. Free lodging, plenty of friends, and an exciting job that pays relatively well-- why not try it?
Other: Flo keeps several pieces of cloth on her-- one is a bandanna she wraps around her head in this style. Since she naturally needs a belt to hold up her "pants", she uses the same sort of cloth, but red-on-white. Always tucked under her belt is a folded-up, large cloth in a startlingly dark and vivid pattern. It's typically used in her dancing routines, but she can also use it for a multitude of other uses, such as serving as a hood or rope. She has a small beauty mark beneath the outer corner of her left eye.
