serenity is not stillness.

Her nights had always been restless ones. From her younger years to the point she was at now, Elysia had been plagued by a minor case of insomnia and rest only graced her three hours after she had laid her head, only to be a fidgety sleep easily awoken by mysterious clanks and clatters in the darkness out her window. The Shinx let out a sigh, the electric blue of her fur blessed by soft beams of moonlight through an open window that lead into a dark expanse, an admittedly unsafe practice yet one she went through with nonetheless.
Her eyelids lifted to reveal flickering yellow eyes and she raised her head from scratchy bedding issued by the guild. Her attention looked to the star-flecked sky, going further until they laid on the fog-laden horizon, a looming reminder that venturing into the fog meant they would never return, Andalusst a make-shift prison full of crime and overpopulation. However, there she was, in the town she so hated and despised, and still managed to find the beauty in the flickering candlelight that lined the streets, or the soft gusts of midnight wind that kissed her windswept fur. Such marvel prompted the small Pokemon to rise and stretch, then proceed to tip-toe out of her room for a walk. She could never resist it, as if the landscape was calling out to her, for her to explore it.
Softly, she shut the wooden, creaky door of her room and slinked out of the guild under the cover of night, the vague whispers of similarly restless explorers rising from various rooms as she passed them. Eventually, she had reached the exit of the building and was out, sparing a quick glance over her shoulder before trudging through the high shadows and her own exhaustion. Sleep weighed every step, but Elysia had not felt more restless and awake in a lifetime. Her paws tipping the grimy cobblestone of the streets and the soft whistle of wind through buildings only gave her life and exhilaration that she found could not be discarded the whole night, further keeping her awake.
Perhaps she should change her plans for every night, or else she would never get any sleep.
Without knowing quite where her paws were taking her, the small cat pokemon eventually found herself at the base of the giant stone monolith in the center of town, giant, immaterial orbs of light flickering overhead. She was alone, but Elysia did not mind. In fact, she relished in the feeling of being able to be by herself at such a place, somewhere she could marvel at the grandeur of it all without being interrupted by the more outgoing Pokemon. With a vague smile on her lips, the Shinx settled into a sitting position, her eyes blinking languidly as the quiet night breeze rifled her electric blue and ebony fur.
