Now, just look at this cutie, that sweet little face and adorable smile. Too bad that nice smile is really fake and he absolutely hates when others assume he's a girl or think that he is "just so cute" cause you know he's not cute or girly! He is a strong, tough male who is way better than any other Pokémon out there and doesn’t need anyone telling him otherwise, not that he’d listen anyway. He seems to believe that he is above everyone else and has a rather narcissistic viewpoint of himself, acting high and mighty most of the time and he is not humble at all in his actions, believing to be too good for anyone and too powerful to ever be beaten in battle. He’s an independent and strong Chikorita who don’t need no help and anyone who says any differently...well he just might have beat you until you see things differently...as in see things his way.
Bale uses his adorable features sometimes as a ploy to get others to do what he wants and bend them to his every desire, it's easy when you have the intelligence and masterful skills that he thinks he possess. In reality he is really just a self-obsessed Chikorita who has too much faith in his own skills and will probably end up getting the crap beat out of him because of his shit-talking ways, oh did I forget to mention that? Bale here has a bad habit of acting out and throwing what some might call a tantrum when things might not go his way and uses tough talk to those who are obviously bigger and stronger than he is because he really does think that he is unbeatable. Even when beaten he will go out of his way to act tough and say that he only let them win cause he was bored with battling, anything to keep that super-pride intact.
He can be a bit down to earth on rare moments when he knows he has to be, though these are very, very few and far between occurrences as he even thought his own mother wasn't good enough for him and left to be on his own because she "cramped his style" and "smothered him like a baby" oh and "held him back from being the best he could be" and though some might say this is a rebellious phase in the young Chikorita's life it seems to have no hint of disappearing or of Bale growing out of it so it's to last and odds are no one will be able to stand this little shit for more than a few minutes until he drives them crazy with his obviously delusional signs of strength and toughness. Stubbornness and thick-headedness is also a clear sign of his God-complex, he almost violently refuses to think he's wrong, how could he be after all? He clearly has had a lot of life-lessons to know everything he needs to know.
That's not to say that he can't be nice or caring...it's just very difficult for him as he thinks himself to be the best but maybe as he grows and meets new pokemon he'll start changing and seeing things differently. Hah! Not very likely but that's just fine with him, he's planning on keeping himself busy and being the best explorer out there!
