The land of Parai.. tainted by the thieves and villains that called themselves civilized pokémon. They sought out the weakest links and simply enforced their laws on them. They were obnoxious, rude and didn't show mercy to anyone. Khion and his family were traveling from the Concealed Peak, as rumors spoke of a fog; a fog so thick, the pokémon caught within it would be lost forever. Of course, it was only a rumor, but Khion's father didn't want anything to do with that so-called fog. He promised his sons to take them far away from it, a place called Andalusst. "Argei, can you sense any pokémon nearby?" The Tyranitar asked, whilst placing his bag on the floor to take a rest. "No, father." Replied the oldest, returning to their resting spot after he made sure of his surroundings. "Alright, boys. We can take a break." Their father said, to which Keirr happily sat down in the dirt. The second born was worn out from all the traveling, they hadn't rested for a while now. However, the youngest of the brothers, Khion, refused to take that rest. The young Larvitar stood tall, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. "Khion." His father called, the youngest turned to his father. "Yes, father?""Go take a rest, son. I'm not carrying you when we leave." But Khion wouldn't take a rest. He would never take a rest. He wanted to earn his father's respect, his pride. It was something the Larvitar was striving for his entire life, being the youngest and all. His brothers always overshadowed him, they were born explorers, born to make their father proud. Khion was born only to be a disappointment in his father's eyes. "Father? Are we getting closer to Andalusst?" Asked the oldest, Argei. The Tyranitar shook his head. "We've got quite a bit to go, I'm sorry son. This is the only rest we'll be getting for now." On first glance, the Tyranitar looked like a loving father. But not to Khion. Not listening to his family, Khion still stood his ground, however his legs were growing tired of all the walking and standing; so they buckled and the Larvitar toppled over. "I told you to take a rest, Khion. We're leaving in a few minutes, why don't you ever listen to me?" The young Larvitar got up, his face flushed in embarrassment. "I just wanted to make you proud, father." Khion whispered, glad that his father didn't hear that. The Family started walking once again, however, Khion was too exhausted to keep up with them and decided to take a shortcut. Keirr stopped, getting the attention from his father. "Khion, stay on the path." His father shouted. Khion narrowed his eyes, refusing to listen to his father. The Larvitar slowly made his way downward with the help of that shortcut, he would wait for his family to come down and receive another rant about how immature and reckless he was. The ground pokémon sat down, finally granting him some rest. However.. time gently kept on ticking. Seconds becoming minutes, and minutes becoming hours. "Father?" Khion called, now sick of waiting. He had already gathered enough food for a good meal, he hoped that would make his father proud. There was no response. The Larvitar looked up at the mountain, worry written on his face. Did he take the wrong path after all? ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Along the cliff face was one of many shadowless paths who beheld the sun and the other green peaks, caked by it's gleam. Called 'path' only by the frail stones placed by explorers long lost to time, this path winded its way about the intersection of valley and mountain, forking upwards and onwards at times until it bled into a river which had overtaken it's ancient route. If one were to follow the path as it dived underwater they would enter the dry forest which leaned inwards towards this blue, sucking away at the river which meant life. The path would eventually break from this vein, curving into a dense patch of green and back towards the mountain around which it once skirted. The path grows faint and fainter as the traveler treks through things greener and greener, the dryness borne from distance eating away at the green's intensity after a certain peak, leaving green to fade away into hues of orange at the mountain's side. The path itself winds back up along the mountain, however, in the distance, one could see the beginnings of large alcove borne into the mountain face, and if they were to seek shelter from the sun within this respite, they would find a tent within it's shade. A dead fireplace dry, a gourd of water filled and another empty dry, some fish bones dry, a sack filled with sand dry, but these were just beyond entrance, and the alcove narrowed down to an artificial growth carved by claw, within which was the beginnings of a mineral deposit of some undeniable value, pierced through by a Sableye slashing away in silence and a Pancham shifting through the sediment, organizing by value and responsible for the piles of sand, bucket filled with rock and another for chunks, and a small bag containing the pristine finds. Among these was another drinking gourd, near empty.
"Pass the gourd," said Okri, parting from the wall and dusting himself off, his gem eyes scanning over Iggy's work. The bear did as asked, returning to the dusting of an interesting rock as his father lapped at the water, near exhausted. They were close to the big one, it would only be a matter of time now. The two could practically feel the anticipation in the air, a silent determination to reach towards their ultimate goal of wealth. Okri spat out some sediment, staring into the emptied gourd, "Bring the last here and then go refill the other two," Iggy glanced up from his rock, nodding before placing it back down. He reached to the gourd and his father passed it to him, he saw their hands as they grasped at the clay thing, both were dusty, between Okri's claws were clumps of sediment. "Maybe we could do for a bath," Iggy trotted down towards the tent. "Eh, maybe, never know with bandits though," Okri cleaned his claws with a dirty rag, Iggy brought the filled gourd near. Okri stared into the water, a long-ass, toothy-ass grin,"Nothing like water from a gourd after its been sat there for a day, and nothing like its first sip, weheh, you'll get the first sip when you don't have me to contend with," the gourd was passed, Iggy counted the seconds between final gulp and last, the gourd was passed, Iggy drank too. He planted the thing on the ground, today was a good day. "Any thoughts on when you should head back, we could use a restock," Iggy rose from the ground, dusting himself off, he was still dirty and dry. "Ehh, give it two days, the badge 'll allow me to carry abit more." "Alright," Iggy left for the sun.
He emptied whatever was left in the two gourds out into the sunbaked stone, staring into the sizzling sand as a brief question of 'why' directed itself towards the mechanisms of heat. Of course, that was a foolish thing to ponder, and so Iggy thought nothing more of it, nodding up towards the path and beginning his trek towards water, or so he thought. A figure broke through the green, a Larvitar, at first he was worried it was a feral mon', but the food he carried begged otherwise, the fellow was at least somewhat sane. Even better, he seemed utterly unaware of them, "Father?" the figured cried, was the child lost? Iggy was certain they could host. Okir, having heard the call too, peaked out from the alcove's shade, "Whozat?" Iggy glanced back, "Some kid." Okri's eyes gleamed in the sun and in realization of this he muttered "Shit," before reclining back into the shade. Iggy chuckled, placing the gourds down and moving to meet the Larvitar, not one to shout for ears were everywhere. The Larvitar would no doubt see him, and when they did meet eyes, he would wave with a smile, leaf caked in dirt, dry.

As Khion was looking around, his gaze fell on a Pancham. Once their eyes locked, the panda pokémon waved at him. The Larvitar knew that his father told him not to talk to strangers, but at this point he was desperate. "Hey!" He exclaimed, before hurrying over to the Pancham. "You wouldn't have happened to see two Larvitars.. a bit taller than me and a Tyranitar passing by right?" He asked, hastily looking around. Oh man, his pops was going to be so mad.. not to mention Argei and Keirr had something to laugh about again. Khion had always been the laughing stock of the family, being the youngest and all. Argei had always been the big brother figure, however, he was also a bit of a bully. Along with Keirr, they would pick on him no matter what. Khion nervously fidgeted with his stubby arms, he tried so.. so hard to get the recognition he deserved. But his father just wouldn't see how hard he tried. He was troublesome, but it wasn't all thát severe. Right? ▲

He was trusting, exceptionally so, hopefully wasn't faking. Iggy loosely rose his hands towards Khion as he scurried his way, "Hey hey-hey, calm down, don't shout, lord knows what heard you," the first thing Okri had taught him was never to be excited out in the wild, excitement just meant a lapse in judgement. So naturally, if they were going to stick together, the first course of action should be to calm his 'friend'. "Look, I don't know where your company is, but I'm sure we can find out where they are headed, hmm?" A hand gripped at Khion's shoulder, firmly holding the mon' still as best he could, he smiled his best soothing smile, "Now, how about we head back to me and my pop's home base," he nodded back towards the gourds, "We can talk more there." Okri wasn't going to like this and neither was he, but what option did they have? Letting this Larvitar roam around was bad news regardless of his intent, after all, couldn't have an aimless soul causing a ruckus nor a thief hoping to catch his prey unaware. Fortunately, Okri and himself were the last to be caught 'unaware' so simply. Then again, Iggy seriously doubted Khion was anything more than lost. "My name is Iggy, and the Sableye back there is Okri, how about you?" Okri peaked around the alcove edge when he heard his name, eyes gleaming directly towards Khion, scrutinizing the child.

The Larvitar halted when the Pancham raised his paws towards him, telling him to quiet down. Right. He might attract bad pokémon. The ground type nodded in understanding and slowly made his way towards Iggy with a worried look on his face. Apparently, this pokémon hadn't seen his family pass by, which meant they were probably still traveling. When the Pancham told him they can find out where they were headed, the Larvitar grinned clumsily. The grip on his shoulder rather felt assuring, and his clumsy grin turned into a smile. "Well, uh, my father was supposed to be here by now. I kind of took a shortcut down the mountain, turns out it was faster. But okay, can we still see the path from your home base?" He asked, looking at Iggy when he said that they could talk more there. His father always told him not to go with strangers, but that warning had been long forgotten as well. Khion had a habit of forgetting the important stuff. Other pokémon probably had their alarmbells ringing, but not Khion. He was as naive as a child being promised candy. "My name is Khion," He told Iggy, and then looked at the Sableye when he peeked around the corner. "It's nice to meet you both."As curious as he was, the Larvitar looked around. "You both live here?"▲

The Larvitar was contented; good, he seemed like a good kid, Iggy didn't want him to despair over something so simple. Even if the family wasn't making, at the very least, a pit stop at Andalusst there was no doubt they would come it's way to call for help in finding a missing child, so he had no fears for Khion's reunion. Even with the stories of a fog named Madness and his awareness of them, he could in no way conceive the totality of that truth nor the intimacy he would soon share with it. To him, as his then faint youth allowed him, that was simply a story from another land as was the tale of the Heroes who surmounted Sky Tower and their celestial champion. What did it mean to be borne by the Beyond of stars? Nothing but flowery abstraction, or so he thought. "You took a...shortcut, hmm? Speed really depends on where you were headed," he nodded down to the faint path which lead to the river, hands falling to his side, "If you were headed to Andalusst, then you'd have to go all the way abouts the mountain side and towards the moon, the main route to Andalusst lies there." He looked up to the branch of the path which curled to the mountain top, "You could of course enter a cave and hope for a faster pass, but that's a crackshot and I doubt either of us can handle a dungeon here." Shortcut to Where was the question; in the horizon before the mountain's side the closest sign of civilization was a hollow shell, so where were they headed? Perhaps the father was an outlaw? That would complicate, and it's not like the Larvitar would know left or right. To the child, father was father, and his will was absolute, or at least, that was how Iggy imagined things. With this ambiguity in mind he resolved to not give a damn, for Mon' was Mon'. "Khion, hmm? Well, the pleasure is mine as well." Okri waved, smiling with sharp, white teeth before blending back into the shade. Iggy chuckled at some internal joke, "Wheheh," ushering Khion towards the alcove with a beckoning wave, turning heel and strolling back towards the cool dark. He spoke over his back, "We don't live here, we're excavating for fossils right now," he lowered his shaking head and chuckled out a sigh, "Unfortunately, we've got nothing of real worth to call for it." He wasn't about to tell a stranger about a fortune he felt him and Okri were guaranteed, that was just idiotic, exceptionally so when their lively-hood hinged on sense. Khion
