MY WAY

"Stay here." His father told him whilst adjusting the brushes that Raimo was in. The two had been traveling to Andalusst, ever since their mother was murdered by an infected pokémon. Raimo's father wanted nothing to do with the mountains anymore and decided it was time for change. However they were met with a mysterious path along the way, and his father wanted Raimo to hide.

He heard his father carefully leave the spot where he was hiding his son, and Raimo, being an obedient little Riolu, stayed put. 

Minutes passed, and Raimo grew tired of waiting. The young pokémon peeked out of the brush he was in and saw no sign of his father. 
"Papa?" He called, taking a look around but seeing nothing but an eerie fog that was about 300 ft. (100 meters) away from the child.

The Riolu suddenly heard twigs snap, and immediately hid back in the bush. He wasn't sure what was out there, but he would remain calm and wait for his father. He was told to stay here. 

Minutes turned into hours, and Raimo had fallen asleep. 
A roar of thunder awoke the little Riolu, and he shook in fear. "Papa, I'm scared.." He whispered, wrapping his paws around himself. Though curiosity killed the cat and Raimo peeked out of the bushes again. The fog looked like it was creeping closer, but there was still no sign of his father. 

There was a flash of lightning, and Raimo saw a glimpse of what was beyond the fog. Red, eerie glowing eyes that were looking at him. 
The thunder hollered again, and Raimo cried out. The Riolu hid in the brush again and began to cry- rather uncontrollably. 

Never had there been a moment where the young child was this frightened of a thunderstorm.

Kenta was walking with his family, they heard that there was going to be a thunderstorm tonight and the Electric type Pokemon loved the storm. His father being a big Electivire loved the feeling of the lighting striking his antenna and his Motor Drive ability picking up, his mother was just an Electabuzz but still the rush of the electricity flowing through her was something she couldn't deny she loved. Kenta's mother and father truly though had heard many stories of deadly corrupted Pokemon up in the mountains and a mysterious fog that was making strange things happen. Not wanting their son to worry too much they decided that taking him into a thunderstorm would be the best thing to keep his mind away from all the horrible things that were happening and for the family to just calm down and enjoy themselves. As they climbed the mountain, Kenta's smile grew tenfold as he saw the thunder clouds rolling in. "It's going to be big isn't it father?" He said jumping up and down as he circled his father. His father simply nodded putting on a smile as he glanced towards the fog on the horizon, his mother was worried too but kept walking close behind them. Once the group made it to a good point they stood their waiting, Kenta and his father doing some sparring and his father giving him some electric jolts to get him ready for the big show. The family laughed and were happy, they didn't realize that anything else was happening on this mountain though Kenta's father was a strong Electivire and if anything was to happen to them he would surely be able to protect them from anything. As the thunderstorm came and family got ready to take in all the electricity that came from the Lightning Kenta heard a voice, a small scream coming from just below them. As the thunder struck again he could have sworn he saw a shadow appear coming from some bushes. Jumping down, ignoring his parents orders to come back he ran to the bush and parted it, sticking his head inside. "Hello?" The fearless Elekid spoke, not even thinking that it could be a harmful Pokemon waiting to strike, but alas all he saw inside was a young Riolu about his age huddled up in the bush. His parents soon followed him and stood behind the Elekid, his father booming voice resounding through the mountain. "What are you doing Kenta, I told you to stay by my side.!" As he spoke another clap of thunder struck behind them causing a resounding boom to amplify the Electivire's voice. Raimo 441 words notes

MY WAY

The thunderstorm was raging, and Raimo desperately longed for his father's embrace. However, a little voice told him that his father had been swallowed up by the fog.
Due to the storm, he hadn't even heard the family that was just a few ft. away from him.
Suddenly, he heard a voice, a gentle greeting that blocked out the sounds of the thunderstorm. Raimo opened his eyes and stared right into the eyes of an Elekid. The electric pokémon looked about his own age, and it looked quite tough.

However, the Elekid was soon surrounded by an Electivire and an Electabuzz. The voice of the Electivire shaking the ground as he told the Elekid that he was supposed to stay by his side. The loud voice was empowered by another roar of thunder, making Raimo feel very small. The Riolu then jumped up and embraced the Elekid, despite Raimo being a little bit taller than the Elekid- it still granted him some feeling of safety.

Kenta flinched at his fathers loud and resounding words but the flinch was immediately stopped when he felt two arms wrap around him and before he realized, the Riolu had hugged him. Caught off guard he put his arms around the Riolu before turning around to look at his parents with an eyebrow raised. His mother immediately put her hand up to her mouth and his parents looked to each other, his father lowering down, not wanting to be too intimidating. The pair took a few steps forward his mother still holding her hand up to her mouth before looking the Riolu up and down, "Where are your parents young one?" She said putting out a hand and gently placing it on Riolu's shoulder. Kenta was still silent, he was caught off guard and didn't know what to do. Looking to his father the only response he got was a nod from the Electivire who smiled, seemed as though they knew something he didn't. "Uhh, I'm Kenta." He said trying to make things less awkward as he pat the Riolu on the back. The Riolu didn't seem dangerous in anyway and his parents didn't seem to be too worried, but what was this kid doing out here all by himself. Even Kenta wouldn't dare climb this mountain all alone, especially in a storm if he wasn't an electric type. Raimo 229 words notes

MY WAY

Raimo's hold on Kenta got a little tighter when another roar of thunder was heard. The Riolu had never felt so alone in his life, he wanted to find his father.. he wanted to be held.
He heard some rustling and the Riolu hid behind the Elekid, who was still a complete stranger, but for some reason knowing that this pokémon was around the same age has him brought him some comfort.

Then a soothing voice began speaking, and he felt a hard hand on his shoulder. Raimo raised his head, looking up with teary eyes. He was drenched by the rain, and was shivering noticeably. He didn't even know how long he had been waiting for his father to come back.
Unable to form words, Raimo looked at the fog and pointed a shaky paw at the somewhat illuminated red eyes that were watching them from beyond the fog.

After a small bit of silence the Elekid began to speak, introducing himself to Raimo. The pat on the back was enough for Raimo to slowly let go of the Elekid. The Riolu now wrapping his paws around himself while looking at the elec-family. "M-my n-name.. R-Rah-hee-mo.." He stammered, scared and from the cold.

The family watched the little Riolu as its grip tightened around Kenta, his eyes widened as he Riolu's strength was shown and he began to realize just how scared the Pokemon was. His mother still trying to sooth him smiled and tried to make him realize that they were here to help but as the Riolu looked up and pointed behind them into the fog, the family realized that it wasn't them that he was afraid of. Kenta's father immediately turned around, the two antenna's on his head began to send electricity towards each other as he stared into the fog. Two red eyes beamed back at them from inside the fog and immediately he put his arm out, "Honey. Take the kids. It's time we moved." His mother nodded and smiled at the two boys giving Kenta a nod, before putting her arm around the two and beginning to walk. "Good to meet you.. Rah hee mo." Kenta didn't really understand the name but just went with what he heard as he put his hand on the boys shoulder and walked with him and his mother. He glanced back at his father who was standing there ready to fight anything that came their way, a smile appearing on his face. He had seen his father fight many times before and the Electivire was not something to be taken lightly but he knew the look that his mother gave him and the tone his father used he could tell that they couldn't stay and watch this one. "Come stay with us Rah hee mo. Our house is huge, he can stay with us can't he mom?" The Elekid spoke in a way that it was as if he wasn't even asking his mother he was more telling her but still she nodded and put an arm around Raimo, "Of course he can. We wouldn't want to leave him up here, he'd freeze!" Suddenly as they continued to walk another sound of thunder could be heard, but this wasn't natural thunder. The sound of his father letting out a loud yell as he fired his thunder bolt attack into the fog resounded and echoed all throughout the mountain. Raimo, as afraid and sad as he was, still managed to smile back at Kenta's mother. He knew his father wouldn't allow him to go along with strangers. But what choice did he have? There was a feeling that told him his father wasn't going to come back, that he had been swallowed up by the fog.

As Raimo showed the family where his parents were located, he noticed their aura's suddenly changing to worry. The Riolu looked back at the fog, and then back to the Electivire whose antenna's started sparking. Kenta's father sound less angry, but not less worried. He told the Electabuzz to 'take the kids'.
Raimo looked up as he received an arm around him. Ultimately he moved closer to the Electabuzz, missing his father's touch. As they began to walk the Riolu looked back at the Electivire. "B-but.. my papa told me to stay here.." He said, in a slightly panicked voice. He never liked disobeying his father, seeing how strict he was. He barely allowed Raimo to cry.

Kenta's mother started guiding them away from where he was supposed to wait, the Riolu looked back at the one spot he last saw his father.
Luckily Kenta distracted him by mispronouncing his name, the Riolu was about to object until the Elekid practically invited him into their home. Kenta's mother didn't hesitate to say yes, putting her arm around him once again.
Raimo rubbed the tears out of his eyes and sniffled, maybe if the storm cleared he could return to wait for his father again.

Another roar of thunder, different this time, but not less frightening. Raimo looked up at the Electabuzz, wondering if it had been the Electivire who caused that loud noise.

Kenta smiled at Raimo, his eyes narrowed in a happy way as the three walked down the mountain, he wasn't even the slightest bit worried about his father and the fact that he was protecting them made it all so much easier. Not a single thread of fear was in Kenta's body right now as he continued to comfort the Riolu with his mother who turned kept her arm around Raimo and didn't look back when he said his father told him to wait. Not wanting to speak her mind she simply smiled, "Your Father will understand, he wouldn't want you to catch a cold out here. We'll come back tomorrow, it's ok." But as she looked up she knew what had happened, what ever it was that was going on in the fog, it definitely wasn't something that a kid should be forced into. As Electivire fired his Thunderbolt into the fog, the red eyed being disappeared for a bit. The fog beginning to grow closer and closer, Electivire stayed for as long as he could before it was obvious that the beast didn't want to fight. Not wanting to be caught up in the fog he turned around and started running. He needed to make it back to his family, hopefully they had already made some headway down the mountain and weren't going to be caught up in the fog either. "So Rah Hee mo, where are you from?" Kenta said putting his hands behind his head and walking at a normal pace, still not worried at all even though his mother was pushing him every now and again to walk faster. Raimo 274 words notes

The young Riolu watched the Elekid now smile at him too, and he couldn't help but smile back. The Elekid's smile was kind of contagious. The aura of Kenta wavered over to Raimo, and soon the events that took place in mountains were forgotten. At least until the next morning.

Raimo nodded at Electabuzz as she told him his father would understand. His father would probably wait for him upon his return. "Okay." He replied, looking like a drenched little Growlithe.

As the thunderbolt from Electivire was shot into the fog, it hit its target. The target screaming and squirming. As the enemy writhed, it was revealed to be a Lucario. A species that lived on the other side of the mountain. It was strange to see one here, in this area, as they usually remained with their families. Perhaps.. this Lucario was.. Raimo's father..?

When Kenta asked where he was from, the Riolu frowned. "It's Raimo.. and I'm from the other side of the mountain. My papa and I had to run away because our village was no longer safe." He told them both, looking at Kenta and mimicking his pose by putting his paws behind his head. "My mama was attacked and she was lost in the fog. Papa and I were trying to get to Anda..wusst? I forgot the name." He continued, not realizing what being lost in the fog meant. "I think my papa is getting mama back from the fog." He then added with a smile.

Seeing the Lucario in the fog, Electivire stopped for a second. He watched the Pokemon and raised an eyebrow at it. "What are you doing! Leave the Fog!" Electivire wanted to save the Lucario but he feared the worst had already happened, there was something about the fog, something he couldn't understand and something he didn't want to find out first hand. He turned and ran glancing back and saying softly, "I'll take care of your son." He had a feeling that the fog had done something to the Lucario and the hunch that the Lucario was the Riolu's son was not too much of a long shot. He ran back, knowing what had happened and piecing the puzzle together he knew what he must do. Kenta continued to smile, "That's what I said, Raimo." He smirked even wider and continued to walk, his mother giving him a quick tap on the back of the head, the two boys were in sync now as Raimo put his hands behind his head to copy Kenta. His mother smiled but the smile quickly fell away as Raimo spoke of his mother and what his father was doing, still not wanting to sadden the boy anymore as he seemed to be looking good now she said nothing. As they continued Electivire came into view behind them, running at his top speed he stopped next to his wife and looked at her, his eye showing her everything she needed to know. "Ok boys, we are going to run home. It's going to get really cold and we need to heat ourselves up." Immediately Kenta looked to Raimo and smirked, "We live in the tower, at the bottom of the mountain. Last one there is a rotten egg." He poked out his tongue and started running, Electabuzz and Electivire looked at each other. "The fog." Was all Electivire said and the two ran after the boys, they'd be safer back in the town and out of the cold. Raimo 333 words notes

Something shifted in the Lucario's expression, even though the fog blocked most of the sight- it was clear that the Lucario looked sad. Its red eyes looked lost, but then gained its usual aggressive hint. There was no hope for this Lucario, as its mind had been corrupted by the fog.
Who knew, maybe Raimo and his father would cross paths when the time was right? But for now.. he was a slave to whatever was changing pokémon inside the fog..

When Kenta said that's what he said the Riolu frowned but remained quiet, figuring that the Elekid was now merely teasing him.
He watched Electabuzz slap Kenta's head, earning a small chuckle from the Riolu. However the small vulpine pokémon had no idea that the Electabuzz knew that he would never see his father again.
Though then the Electivire came back running as fast as he could. If the Riolu knew any better he'd think there was something wrong. But Kenta distracted him by making it a race home.
"Okay!" Raimo beamed, sprinting after the Elekid, not wanting to be a rotten egg! He didn't hear the Electivire say 'the fog' as he was out of reach.

As the two Pokemon raced home, Kenta couldn't help but look back at Raimo with a smile. He had never had a friend like this before, the Riolu was a quiet Pokemon for the most part but Kenta knew that once he got him out of his shell he would be plenty of fun to be around. The two ran into the town and Kenta pointed to his house, not bothering to slow down as he tried to be first to the front door. Electivire and Electabuzz both made their way down to the house behind the boys, quickly getting the boys inside before shutting and locking the door. Electivire moved to look out the window whilst his wife the Electabuzz moved to the kitchen and kept her fake smile to try and keep the boys from learning what was going on. "Would you like something to eat, I'm sure you must be hungry." She said as she looked through the food they had, immediately Kenta raised his hands "I'm hungry momma!" He looked to Raimo and smiled, "Can Raimo sleep in my room!? Please please please! I haven't had a sleep over before. Please mom!?" His mother looked up from the food and then looked to Raimo, "I'm sure he's very tired Kenta, maybe another night. We should all get a big rest tonight." Raimo 225 words notes

MY WAY

Raimo smiled back at Kenta as he was looking at the Riolu. Surely this had been an awful day. But this family was right, it was better for Raimo to search tomorrow. Things didn't help with a thunderstorm raging on. His father wouldn't want him to be caught in it.

As Kenta's house was now coming in sight, and the Elekid pointed at it, the Riolu sped up in hope to keep up with his new friend. Raimo never had friends before, he was the only offspring in their village. Having a baby was pretty uncommon, as encountering a female Riolu was something very rare.

The family entered the house, looking a little confused as the Electabuzz locked the door. That was unusual, but- the child didn't feel bothered by it because the Electabuzz offered food. The vulpine pokémon gently placed his paw on his tummy, nodding heavily as she said that he must be hungry. He hadn't ate since noon, and he wasn't sure what time it was right now.

Then Kenta asked if Raimo could sleep in Kenta's room, and the Riolu chuckled at the eagerness of his new friend. "I wouldn't mind, though." He replied to Kenta's mom, as she said that he was probably very tired. Yeah, he wouldn't mind having someone with him tonight. Those creepy.. eerie eyes from the fog were still somewhat haunting.

Kenta jumped and clapped when his new friend said he'd be fine if they had a sleep over in his room. Taking Raimo by the hand he smiled and ran through the living room and down the hall to his room, there Kenta showed the Riolu all his toys and gave him a tour of his room. It wasn't huge but it was nice, his family definitely had some money and had done well for themselves in life. Whilst the two kids played in Kenta's room, his parents met each other in the kitchen and began to talk, Electivire telling his wife about what he had seen and what he thinks happened in the fog. It was sad to say the least, Raimo now had no family and was probably going to be alone. Not wanting this to happen and feeling that they really did have enough room in their house and that they could raise Raimo with Kenta as their child. The two boys were the same age so it wasn't going to be too bad and at least they'd grow up to have each other's back. Electabuzz agreed with her husband and went back to make some food, taking it into the boys room and smiling as she opened the door. Holding the tray with two bowls of stew, kissing Kenta on the forehead and then doing the same to Raimo and smiling at the Riolu before leaving the room. "Mother's food is amazing Raimo, you're going to love it." Kenta said as he shoveled spoon fulls of stew into his mouth not even waiting for it to cool down. Raimo 272 words notes

MY WAY

The young Riolu smiled warmly as Kenta took him by the hand, getting dragged through the living room and down the hall to where Kenta's room was.
Just.. seeing the toys that the Elekid owned, made Raimo realize that he barely had anything at home. He was the only child of the village, which was already rare to begin with. They probably had no idea how to treat a child.
Surely Kenta had a great room! Bigger than his at home.

While the boys were clearly enjoying themselves in the room, Kenta's parents were discussing the future of Raimo. The Riolu was obviously too young to fend for himself, as seen up in the mountain. He still relied on his parents and their power, without having much knowledge of what was going on in the world.
Perhaps, when the boys would be old enough to attend School, everything would become clear to the young pokémon.

When Electabuzz entered the room whilst holding a tray with food, the Riolu couldn't help but take a large whiff of the scent that was approaching him. The stew smelled amazing! Better than home, to be honest.
Electabuzz kissed both Kenta's and Raimo's forehead, which made the Riolu blush just slightly. He wasn't really used to receiving affection, as he was raised in a strict environment.

Raimo sat down, bowl with stew in one paw and a spoon in the other. While Kenta was stuffing his mouth with stew, Raimo carefully brought the spoon up to his mouth. Though once he had one bite, he sped up the pace- obviously liking what Kenta's mother had made.
"This is amazing!" He told both Kenta and Electabuzz with a smile, now stuffing the food in his mouth exactly like Kenta.
