Bug Dojo Dungeon Thread

[Sundance]

As soon as you walk into the dungeon, you are greeted by a rain forest, queit water droplets dripping from drooping trees while bug-pokemon buzzed noisily among the trees. Massive trees and bushes made the room around you, and a quick look revealed that the door had disappeared. And while it was peaceful for just a moment, a Heracross soon came buzzing from the trees, landing and charging forward.

Heracross used Night Slash! Critical hit!
Judy Health - 7/20

Before you could react, The Heracross was close and used it's long tusk to gouge into you, slashing upwards. The bug soon leapt back though, seemingly wary of a counter hit.

The Kangaskhan lumbered into the dojo, giving a final nod of thanks to the two fighting masters before dissapearing into the rainforest type setup. She merely had a moment to gaze around and properly assess her surroundings before a heavy force slammed into her side. The size difference was enough that it only had Judy stumbling away for a few steps, but that blow had hurt. A lot more than she had expected it to, in fact. Disrespectful children... .the Kangaskhan turned to glare reproachfully at the Heracross. "Don't you know better than to deal damage to pokemon who know Counter" she asked it.

Before proceeding to punch the Heracross in the face, arm glowing with the of the move she had invoked. "Now fight more smartly youngun, I'm here for some training." Well, hopefully. That move had taken more out of her than she had thought.

Heracross Health - -6/20

The Heracross cringed as your fist slammed into it's face, knocking it back and causing it to collapse into the loamy dirt underfoot. it disappeared on impact, fog shrouding your vision only momentarily before misting away. Congrats, you won your first battle!

Judy gained 142 exp! Judy leveled up to level 6!

"Well that'swhat I thought." Judy huffed, before brushing herself off carefully. The scuffle from the battle - if one would even call that ridiculous cavalcade a battle - had already kicked dirt up on her. She'd get dirtier still before this traipsing through the dojo ended, but ah well. Such was the price to pay for a lady to stay in shape around here.

Quick as that battle had been, the toll for using that Counter move had been quite high. Judy stood in place for a few minutes, eyes closed as she forlornly regarded how flabby she was getting in her middle years. There was a time, Judy thought idly, that she wouldn't have blinked at such a meager attack. Still, she had managed to knock that Heracross out with one blow, that still brought a smile to her face.

"I've dallied enough." Judy suddenly decided aloud before lumbering to her left and continuing onwards. It was time to find herself a real fight.

Judy regained 5 points of health!

As soon as you finished resting beneath the shade of the rainforest canopy, you walk through a path made of wide bushes and fallen leaves that slowly grows narrower, until you come upon a room much like the last one; the only difference being that you are now alone.

The Kangaskhan's lumbering through the dungeon proved uneventful. She carefully squeezed through the twisting hallways until she got to the next room, looking around in expectation for another opponent. Spotting nothing, Judy tensed for a moment, waiting for some kind of trap. Her arms were up and on guard, her teeth half-bared as she prepared a stern motherly rebuke at whoever had planned something as underhanded as a surprise attack.

But the attack never came. Even as Judy waited, the room remained empty and no one jumped out at her. Sighing, Judy let her arms fall and her head hang low again, taking atvantage of this unexpected downtime to rest again, just for a moment. The weariness in her body surprised her. She'd have thought she could keep a better hold of herself. Apparently not.

Well, that was why she needed more practice. After the brief moment was over, Judy squared her shoulders again and started south.

Judy regained 5 points of HP!

After resting, you walk down a rather short path with long, verdant fronds of the rainforest brushing against you as you passed beside them rain dripping from their leaves. Eventually, the path opened into a rather small room with one exit and the stairs. But it seems that if you wanted to go anywhere else, you would have to fight a Karrablast, of whom hissed at you from the entrance of another marked pathway. It seemed to be waiting for you to move first.

Judy nodded approvingly at her next opponent, carefully sizing it up. "You've learned from your friend, didn't you?" she asked it approvingly. If the pokemon waited for her to attack first, then Judy would be wasting her energy and tiring herself out, especially without the powers of Counter to help knock her opponent out. "You're a smart bugger, you are."

Alas, she couldn't sit around and admire her opponent forever. Folding her hand once again into a fist, Judy readied for another Punch. This one didn't hum quite like the Counter did, but it was an impressive attack nevertheless, aimed straight at the odd forked thing on the Karrablast's head. "Now down you go, O fair opponent."

Judy used Comet Punch! It hit 3 times!
Karrablast Health - -2/22

The Karrablast had no time to dodge the attack, hid head-on not once, not twice, but three times. knocked around by the furious punches of Judy, it eventually hit the ground with a sickening smack, bouncing for a moment before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

Judy gained 54 exp points!

Ah, as to be expected, another dungeon down. Judy once again gave a small nod to herself before glancing between the exit and the stairway, mentally considering the two options. She had to admit she didn't train in these newfangled dojos quite often, so she wasn't sure if the second floor would have stronger pokemon or not. Certainly it would be a bit nicer to have an opponent that was actually strong enough to hold its own against her, but she supposed she wouldn't complain if all the pokemon were like this either, since there were so many of them and only one of her.

Descision made, Judy advanced downwards to the next floor of the dojo, prepared for any incoming attacks that might occur.

You walk down stairs into a similar eco-system, except you can still see the sky high above your heads, despite stepping down. The rain-forest drips water from it's leaves, while bug pokemon buzz high above, socializing in the tree-tops. However, before you is a Paras who remained on the land, buzzing angrily and staring at you with a glare that could kill. It was slow, so you could easily land the first hit.

Even though Judy felt like she had descended, the sky seemed no farther up than it had before. The Kangaskhan frowned, looking up at the stairs, down at the ground, then back up at the sky. Finally she just rubbed her head, muttering "Stupid dojo mind tricks." Seriously, she was pretty sure this wasn't physically possible, and trying to put together how exactly she had descended another level was starting to make her head hurt.

Well, she hadn't come here to debate the laws of physics. The buzz of an angry insect was enough to remind her of that. Staring the weird mushroom pokemon down, Judy gave a small nod to herself and once again punched her opponent like before, hand glowing the the energies of a comet punch. Perhaps she didn't have the most varied repertoire, but it did the job well enough.

Paras Health - 14/22

The Paras was knocked away by the two successive punches, letting out soft cries of pain as it rolled off. Struggling to it's feet, the small insect looked to Judy with a burning energy in it's eyes, making soft, angry clicking sounds.

Paras used Poison powder! Judy became poisoned! Judy was hurt by poison!

All of a sudden, an odd purple dust seemed to be sprinkled over you, fluttering from the maw of the enemy Pokemon.

Judy punched the creature and then punched it again, about to give a satisfied nod with herself when she realized the Paras was still standing. Hmm. Judy frowned. It hit her, suddenly, that she rather liked being able to take things down with one blow. Not being able to do so was...irritating.

The dust that settled over Judy caused the old Kangaskhan to cough and stumble backwards, shaking her head to clear her eyes of the burning sensation. "Why I never!" Judy announced, quite offended. Huffing her irritation at the Paras, Judy once again punched the creature like before.

Paras Health - 2/22
You beat into the bug-type three times, it's small body rolling off from recoil and nearly loosing the mushrooms strapped to it's back. The Paras struggled to regain it's balance, and after a while, it finally gathered it's feet beneath it and moved towards Judy once more, belligerent and furious.

Paras used Scratch! It did 4 damage!
Judy Health - 17/26

Scuttling forward, the Paras' eyes were filled with animosity as it raised one leg and dug it's sharp point into her body, slicing it down fiercely.
