PERSONALITY,
Determined is not the first thought anyone would think of when they meet the small bird. But determined she is. She would have had to, to survive a childhood with a missing mother, a father who hardly remembers to care for his children, and two younger siblings. It isn't outright defiance, not even close, but once you meet Jaytin for the second time, you begin to detect her will, the unwillingness to give up, no matter what happens. Her strength is of th willows, bending to every wind, but never snapping, not of the oaks, standing strong yet breaking.
What people see first, however, is sorrow. Sorrow does accompany a child that has been forced to do too much, and as much as she tries to hide it, in the end, it just ends up making her even more reclusive. Her sorrow is perhaps mixed with anxiety, and also responsibility and an unwillingness for anything to go wrong. Struggle, cry and pain is something she experiences, but not defeat. No, nothing so merciful.
and yet, there is still a touch of a smile, a brighter child who genuinely hopes for a better day, hidden between those dark eyes. Defiance, slightly, never breaking despite her hardships. Jaytin rejoices over the slightest of joys, though it is rare for her to shed a single tear. Hope, is, after all, what made her so resistant.
an outsider, one that has only seen jaytin for the first time, however, would just see a normal fletchling. Bright, witty, with only her possessive attitude towards objects that is strange.
yet she is no pushover. Her wits and temper are her greatest weapons. Yes, she has a temper, and she is not afraid to use it either. It is not even used as a last resort, since she freely wields it against all who tries her patience. Her anger is not a quick flare either, but slow and patient. You may think her anger has burned out, but it remains, and it will remain. It is what makes her feared.
of course, there is her smarts to consider as well. Street smarts, rolled with common sense, and cynical philosophy with some what she would call book knowledge. Her humor expresses her wit, but it is her anger that shows it's strength.
