Personality: Zagi at a first glance is an independent pokemon, a bit of a rebel and a bit of an outsider. He can talk smooth, but carries an edge to him, something always seems inherently off about the canine. Zagi takes care to always look nice, his soft fur always well groomed and his claws and teeth always well sharpened and cleaned. A veritable social butterfly when he chooses to be, he knows his way around most pokemon, and can generally find the right words to get what he wants from them, whether it's sweet talking them to stroke their ego or lying to gain their trust. A natural master of illusion, facades come easy to him, and often he loves to play pretend when bored or in need of something, making up stories about who he is and where he comes from, sometimes spinning entire fantastical backgrounds, dreams and hopes. Messing with people's minds is one of the things he really gets a thrill out of.
But for all his sweet words, something always seems instinctively dangerous about the dark type. Zagi may be all smiles and pleasant on the surface, but his grins show sharp teeth and his eyes don't always fully hide the cold blood-lust hidden behind them. The kind of pokemon that gives Dark types their fearsome reputation, under the disguises Zagi is ruthless, a pokemon who lives for him and himself alone and holds no concepts of morality or wrong and right. No life is sacred, no plight worthy of bothering with if it doesn't amuse Zagi. He isn't a proud pokemon, or an egotistical one. Assured of what strength he does have and not pretending to be more or less, Zagi isn't even particularly greedy nor even vain. He keeps himself looking nice because he wants to, and he cares little for the boring gold pieces used as currency unless he wants something with them. All that drives Zagi is fun.
That is not to say he is a childish puppy who must be constantly entertained, though some of that is certainly true. Zagi is wise, an aged pokemon with a dark intelligence and a sharp wit, his eyes are quick and while he may often play himself to be simpler than he is, at the core he is a cunning and devious pokemon. The problem with Zagi lies in his boredom. Zagi gets bored swiftly, if not immediately entertained his mind tends to wander and he tends to get antsy and impatient. Mind games and pain are the only things that bring instant satisfaction to him. A sadist and masochist, Zagi seeks pain, his will do but another pokemons' is often better, he can go past the safe limits, and when they tire and expire he can find a new toy to play with. He enjoys thrill-seeking and exploring dungeons for this reason, testing his strength and getting more powerful is always well and good, but fighting and hurting other pokemon brings adrenaline rushing through his veins.
This sort of disposition puts Zagi at odds with most 'common' pokemon and especially those explorers of the guild. Their agenda's and heroic ventures and speeches bore Zagi more than anything and often irritate him to no end. He simply does not understand why pokemon would go out of their way to be so selfless and so stupid. More than that those who make grand plans to rid the world of fog make his claws itch something fierce. The fog, he believes, was made for a reason. It brought the weak together to be picked off like a flock of mareep and it gave the strong a fearless a challenge and an ally. The fog erased all ideas of equality, within it's depths the weak fell and the strong thrived. Past the boundaries of their protecting light, it became a houndour eat houndour world. And nothing would bring greater joy to Zagi than being at the top of that food chain, the strongest and deadliest of all with no one to oppose him.
