Pascal seemed surprised by his partner's concern, apparently not detecting the insincerity in her voice. Finally, he gave a small cheep of confirmation, his beak not really shaped for facial expressions. His eyes did soften a little though, the best any bird could do at a smile. "Nothing permanent." he assured his partner, fluffing up his wings again just a bit. "I'll take a brief rest and we'll continue on."Luckily, the next room didn't hold any sort of unpleasant surprises. Quite the opposite rather, and Pascal was quite a bit relieved to see the familiar looking berry on the ground. Once again not even seeming the slightest concerned about traps, the bird landed and pecked it up in a neat gulp. He looked apologetically at Soot, flashing her an innocent look. "Sorry love, was feeling a bit peckish there." he nearly chuckled at his own pun. "Next item or pokedollars we find, you get first dibs. Bird's honor." his wings stretched out and around him in a slight bow. He remained where he was on the ground for a few minutes however, gathering his strength. Once he thought he was ready, the bird took off again, blinking at Soot. "Onwards east?" ---

What constituted as brief? Holly Soot twitched her ears and gave a short nod. She certainly wouldn't mind even a tiny moment to rest, although there would be no closing of her eyes. The fox didn't trust her companion as far as she could throw him - not very far. Lack of opposable thumbs and all. The hall constructed of rotting trees and curled foliage led them further, at least until her companion made an abrupt stop just yards in.
A berry. Soot was tempted to snatch it out from Pascal's nose, but instead she remained put. "It's fine, you need it. I don't." Maybe she was greedy, but she wasn't stupid. There would be no moving very far without Pascal. As the Swablu rested Soot took only further advantage of examining their narrow surroundings, thinking it all over and wondering what might be further ahead.
What honor does a bird have? Soot wanted to ask. Instead she gathered herself and trotted after. "Fine by me, dear heart." There was a wink from the Fennekin, a swish of her tail as she advanced on, more than happy to let Pascal keep the lead.

Pascal regained 10 points of health!
Pascal regained 5 points of health! After taking a quick rest, the two of you stroll down the next path, only to reach the end and find that the rotting, skeletal foliage had clustered too closely and that you could not pass through. What a design flaw!

The combination of the Oran Berry and the rest had left Pascal revitalized. He was humming a soft cheery little tune to himself as he flew along, ocassionally darting glances at the Fennekin to see if he could get her to join in. More than a few times, however, as Pascal flew onwards, he found himself just narrowly avoiding flying straight into a vine. In fact, Pascal found it harder and harder to look away as he had to actually start focusing on where he was flying - a travesty for a bird who claimed to be so good at what he did. He valiantly continued the effort for a long as possible, ducking and weaving to avoid the ever-growing-thicker foliage, but it wasn't long before Pascal finally had ot admit defeat, swooping down to land by Soot and then hopping alongside her. Even then, it only took a few minutes more before the route closed up, too thick to cross through even if they tried. He gave a small sad huff, before glancing to his partner with a sort of shrug. "Wrong way mate?" he suggested, before nodding back the way they came. "Let's try one of those passages from back before?"--- Pascal proposes going back the way they cam to the original room and then going SOUTH Tagged for Soot

At the dead end Soot huffed through her teeth, ears going flat against her skull. Of course it was a dead end. That was what she got for letting someone else lead. Swiping a paw over one cheek to settle fur ruffled by bramble, it was a moment before Soot turned neatly on her feet to chase after Pascal. His humming she ignored, the Fennekin not in the least musically inclined. No, she was here to get a job done and earn a little cash, not whimsy about like some imbecile. "Hey handsome, how about you let someone else lead for a change?" The fox made an attempt to slide past the Swablu and bump ahead, eager to get on with their mission. There had to be a way out somewhere in there, but where? Back in the main room, Soot faltered, looking in every direction before taking her pick - East. It wasn't really any better than any other direction, but it was her choice, and really that was all that mattered. Right? Right. tagged for Sundance & Pascal . Soot takes the reigns and goes East!

As soon as the two of you begin walk down the leaf-trodden path, you begin to hear the vague buzz of an insect, only to eventually come face to face with a Yanma. The faint sun glints off of it's compound eyes, giving it a malevolent aura. You could attack first if you were close enough, despite the speed of the Yanma's wings.

Pascal the Swablu
The fox shoved past him, and Pascal meekly let her through, shooting his partner an apologetic yet amused look. "Well whatever suits ya best dear." he humored, though now on double alert for any sort of danger. Much as he appreciated not being the obvious punching bag every time they rounded a corner, being in the back meant Pascal couldn't keep as good an eye out for danger, and he didn't quite trust his new partner yet to be able to spot a lurking enemy without having the atvantage of a bird's eye view. Still, he let her lead, uncomplaining as Soot turned east rather than south. "Going a bit rogue now, are we dear." was the sole comment he left her with. Whatever other banter Pascal was about to give was cut short by the furious droning of wings. "Ah, well hello there pal." was the only warning Pascal gave before he was darting forward again, confident as a clam as he simly reached out to jab at the bug type with his beak. "Ah, how lovely a thing type atvantage is." he sighed, before turning to his partner. "Still so interested in taking the lead?"Pascal uses PECK |
